Bukit Jambul Complex, also known as BJ Kompleks, is a prominent shopping center situated in Bukit Jambul, Bayan Lepas. It is positioned at Jalan Rumbia, just off Jalan Tun Dr Awang, and boasts seven floors of retail space, including a basement level.

During its launch in the mid-1990s, Bukit Jambul Complex established itself as an upscale mall. Among its original anchor tenants were Looking Good Department Store and Cosmart Hypermarket, along with other notable tenants such as Reject Shop, Toys R Us, Popular Bookshop, and Mega Pavilion. However, the 2008 Asian Financial Crisis had a significant impact on the retail industry in Malaysia, leading to the closure of several businesses, including Looking Good.

The departure of Looking Good had adverse consequences for Bukit Jambul Complex, as finding another anchor tenant proved challenging. Over time, many outlets, including Toys R Us, Cosmart, Dave's Deli, DeliFrance, and Coffee Bean, had to shut down within the complex. This led to a decline in its middle-class clientele, forcing the mall to target the lower-end market by offering reduced rental rates. Additionally, the renovation of the neighboring Sunshine Square and the opening of Queensbay Mall further eroded its market share.

In an effort to revitalize the mall, Bukit Jambul Complex embarked on a makeover in 2008/2009. Subsequently, it succeeded in attracting Kamdar as the anchor department store, followed by hypermarket operator Mydin. With these two anchor tenants, BJ Kompleks managed to regain a different segment of the shopping market compared to its previous positioning.
